The root chakra, located in the pelvic floor, is all about your first family. It indicates how you felt growing up, your connection to your parents, siblings and grandparents. How did you feel about the neighborhood you grew up in and the schools you attended? Did you feel nurtured, loved and protected? Anatomically, the first chakra or root chakra, governs the tips of your toes to your hips, every bone, muscle and tendon, the colon and coccyx. The main function of the root chakra is to pull up earth energy from the center of the earth. This function protects your physical body and provides a grounded connection aiding you in making choices that reflect a sense of balance. This chakra is deep red.

The second chakra, located at the sacrum or belly button area, is all about passion… passion for your work, home, the finances you generate, intimate partnership, close personal friends and creativity. This chakra governs the reproductive organs, kidneys and adrenal glands. The bottom line is that you must enjoy all that you do and experience; if you don't, you need to make changes. When we are unhappy in one or more of these areas, the energy in the second chakra is stifled. Stagnant energy in the pelvis reduces creativity, takes away our choices and leaves us feeling numb. If you can't feel, you're not moving energy very well and that means a reduction in life force. The second chakra is a bright orange.

The third chakra, or solar plexus, is located in between the opening of your rib cage. This chakra governs the immune system, gall bladder, spleen, stomach, liver, pancreas and small intestinal tract. It is all about self-love and is bright yellow. I usually comment to my clients that the amount of love they have for their children should be equal to the amount of love they have for themselves. I know all of you have heard for several years now how we all need to love ourselves, so like everything else it needs to become a feeling instead of a thought. We are all collectively working on our solar plexus, that is why autoimmune disorders are increasing. In reality any disease can be traced to the immune system.

The first three chakras vibrate at a lower frequency than the last four. They are considered to be primal chakras. These three lower chakras help keep us alive and are connected to what we do everyday: going to work, living with our family and maintaining basic health through self-love.

The fourth chakra or heart chakra is located in the upper chest and is about love, giving and receiving. I know many people think that if they give, they really know how to love. However, if you are not receiving, then you're not showing love to the one person you came here for…yourself! The fourth chakra is a deep emerald green. Although all the chakras can vary in size this chakra can fill your entire chest cavity if you are an empath. An empath is a person who can feel the feelings of others. Some empaths have no idea of their innate abilities and confuse their feelings with the feelings of others. This chakra governs the heart, lungs, breast, rib cage, thymus gland, and the hands. This chakra begins the movement into higher vibration chakras. When we move into right action regarding the heart chakra, we understand universal love and universal law. This knowledge creates better awareness and the higher frequencies that relate to speaking your truth, becoming a multi-sensory being and becoming who you truly are… a unique, talented and powerful individual.

The fifth chakra or throat chakra is located in the middle of your neck. The color is a light blue. It governs your throat, mouth, teeth, gums, esophagus, thyroid gland and parts of the shoulders and arms. The emotional component is speaking your truth and not allowing your mind to renegotiate your feelings. I believe the fifth chakra is the highest personal power chakra in the physical body. Remember, first there was the Word. When I see people speaking their truth, I see a wave of energy, which I believe is resonance emerging from their body and moving into multiple dimensions. After a few seconds the wave returns, bringing with it personal power.

The sixth chakra or third eye is located in the center of your forehead. The color is a deep indigo (purple) when it is at its highest vibration. The sixth chakra governs the five senses and the brain. Through the awareness of the third eye, we can become multi-sensory beings. It is our birthright to see, feel, and hear or sense beyond our three dimensional world. How else can you gain insight into who you really are and your true path in life!

The seventh chakra or crown chakra is located at the top of your head. I see the color of this charkra as white for me with yellow and gold mixed in. It basically glows. This vortex is about individuation and your feelings about religion and/or spirituality. I believe that spirituality is the journey of one's soul into their divinity. Spirituality is very individual, as it should be…it should sing to YOUR heart. Some fortunate people bring their religious teachings with them as they evolve into their spiritual selves. The seventh chakra governs the central nervous system and all of your skin. There are three chakras that I see extend out of the physical body - these are; the first, sixth and seventh chakras. As they extend, I view large cones with their points in the body.
